Jacques Godfrain came to us to design a medal to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the completion of the A75 motorway.
To commemorate the work, to celebrate the link between people.
That was the mission given to us by the former mayor of Millau, Jacques Godfrain, at the end of August.
An inspiring and motivating idea
This September, in the Aveyron department, we're celebrating 20 years since the completion of the A75 motorway, marked by the handover of the Millau Viaduct!
To mark the occasion, we've created a commemorative medal. Red clay to evoke the archaeological treasures discovered throughout the construction of this major motorway, as well as the incredible ancestral know-how of the Millau basin in pottery and ceramics.
A simple phrase, ‘La Méridienne, 20 years after completion’, with typographic work in the number to suggest the laurels traditionally awarded to the winners, in this case all the men and women who worked on the design and construction of this major 21st century project! Among them, Norman Foster, the architect who designed this multi-hauled structure.
We're proud to be contributing our expertise to this piece of local history and human engineering!
