A year of collaboration and excitement!
Dear 2023,
It all began in January when we registered with the Chambre de Commerce de Rodez, a small piece of paper with a big ambition: to make KOMET ceramic "THE" brand of handmade ceramic tableware from Aveyron. A project that is part of a thousand-year-old tradition in Rodez.
February and March are the months of construction for the workshop. Our choices were guided by one guiding principle: to create an ergonomic and ecological workspace. To achieve this, we called on local companies, Grégory Mazet and his team for the joinery and EDF ENR to install ten solar panels.
In April, the 130-litre oven arrived at the same time as our solar panels! Thanks to our supplier CERADEL TOULOUSE, everything came together to get the baking underway. The ideas that were just sketches became the first plates and biscuit products, then earthenware. Thanks to this, we were able to apply for and obtain the Fabriqué en Aveyron label.
During the summer, we begin production of our seasonal collections and the Cycle de la Grave. This collection, which is the result of recycling all our wasted materials and our various water collection tanks, is an ecological range and a permanent fixture in our catalogue.
At the end of August we met our first customers, our first supporters. Things are really hotting up! What was originally intended to be a year of set-up and quiet production became an official launch. Here we are in Atout Aveyron, in the FINTA Podcast, and the first restaurant professionals and local craftsmen contact us to create exclusive pieces.
September saw our first trade show, and not the least, Le Salon du Fabriqué en Aveyron, held in Millau. We made some fabulous professional and personal encounters.
October: KOMET's first vernissage to present our products to the public and launch of our website with the help of Agence Sésame. Start of a collaboration with La Rue Française on an exclusive series of plates and glasses for the opening of the pop-up store for the festive season.
The end of the year also brings its share of wonderful human and commercial surprises, with photo shoots for wedding and interior design professionals, and the first orders sent to the capital and elsewhere.
